2020/11 – I (Raymond) never believed in lottery tickets. Since 46% of the ticket sales goes to the prizes, the expectation is to lose 54% of the money spent. Any luck I might possess is countered by the law of large numbers. Admittedly, millionaires are made because of the large standard deviation but the expectation remains the same. I purchased my first lottery ticket decades ago when some people, who wanted to cash in on all my unused luck, coerced me into splitting on a ticket, but it didn’t work. This photograph shows my second lottery ticket ever, gifted by my nephew Philippe for my birthday. With the guidance of my sister Liette, I scratched a payload of $100! Now, let me think. Could it be that I only lost on my first ticket because of my coercers bad luck? Naaawh.
Winner!
